Work With Us
Legacy Pen House is a small, passionate team of pen enthusiasts, e-commerce professionals, and customer service specialists who believe that fine writing instruments deserve a best-in-class retail experience. We are growing, and we are always looking for talented people who share our love for the craft and our commitment to exceptional service.
Why Legacy Pen House
We are not a faceless corporation — we are a tight-knit team that genuinely cares about what we do. Here is what it is like to work with us:
- Product passion: Every team member receives a welcome pen on their first day (your choice, within reason — we have excellent taste) and access to our lending library of writing instruments for personal use and education.
- Remote-first culture: Our team works remotely across the United States, with occasional in-person meetups in New York City. We trust our people to manage their time and deliver great work.
- Growth mindset: We invest in professional development, conference attendance, and skill-building. If there is a course or certification that makes you better at your work, we will fund it.
- Competitive compensation: Salary benchmarked to market, plus performance bonuses, health and dental insurance, generous PTO, and a meaningful employee discount on everything we carry.
- Creative ownership: In a small team, your ideas matter immediately. We encourage initiative and give people real ownership of their projects from day one.
Current Openings
Pen Specialist (Customer Service & Sales)
Location: Remote (US-based) | Type: Full-time
You are the voice of Legacy Pen House. You help customers choose the perfect pen, answer detailed product questions with genuine expertise, and ensure every interaction reinforces our reputation for exceptional service. You know the difference between a Pilot Custom 823 and a Custom Urushi, and you can explain it in a way that feels like a conversation, not a sales pitch.
Requirements:
- Deep, demonstrable knowledge of fountain pens, rollerballs, and fine writing instruments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in luxury retail, specialty e-commerce, or high-touch customer service
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
E-Commerce Manager
Location: Remote (US-based) | Type: Full-time
You own the online store experience end to end — from product listings and photography standards to conversion optimisation and analytics. You work closely with our development team to improve site performance and with our marketing team to plan promotions, seasonal campaigns, and new product launches.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience managing an e-commerce store, preferably in luxury or specialty retail
- Strong analytical skills with experience in Google Analytics, A/B testing, and conversion rate optimisation
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and content marketing
- Experience with Shopify, WooCommerce, or custom e-commerce platforms
Content Writer (Part-Time)
Location: Remote | Type: Part-time (15-20 hours/week)
You write product descriptions that make people fall in love with a pen they have not held yet. You also contribute to our blog, pen care guides, and email campaigns. A background in luxury goods, horology, or stationery is a strong plus — we want someone who understands that the weight of a cap, the click of a mechanism, or the sheen of an ink are details worth writing about.
How to Apply
To apply for any open position, please send the following to careers@legacypenhouse.com:
- Your resume or CV
- A brief cover letter explaining why you are drawn to Legacy Pen House specifically (not just the role, but our company)
- For the Pen Specialist role: Tell us about your favourite pen and why. Seriously — we read every one of these.
- For the Content Writer role: Include two writing samples, ideally related to luxury products or detailed product descriptions.
We review applications on a rolling basis and aim to respond within 5 business days. No recruiters or agencies, please.
Don't See Your Role?
